Information for Guidance Counselors and Students
The Truth and Reconciliation Endowed Scholarship was established to help African American students from Marion County public schools achieve their college dreams.
Nominations for the scholarship must come directly from school guidance counselors to the College of Central Florida Foundation. Students cannot apply directly to the College of Central Florida for this scholarship.
Applicants will be considered from the following schools: Belleview High School, Dunnellon High School, Forest High School, Lake Weir High School, North Marion High School, Vanguard High School, and West Port High School.
The nomination deadline is April 15. Please email your nominee’s name along with your name and contact information to cfscholarships@cf.edu by April 15. Students must have their CF Admissions application and CF Scholarship application on file at the college by July 15.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must:
1) Have completed an application for admission to the College of Central Florida.
2) Have a scholarship application on file.
3) Recipients must be African American.
4) Be a current graduate of a Marion County public high school.
5) Have and maintain a 2.5 GPA in both high school and college.
6) Maintain satisfactory academic progress toward their degree program.
7) Although not a requirement, financial need is an item for consideration.

Tuition, special college fees, books, gas, food, transportation, or other expenses directly related to the recipient’s educational program.
The College’s Financial Aid Office will distribute funds as a credit on the student’s fee bill.

The scholarship will be $500 per semester for a period of two years, for a total of $2000. This scholarship can be for any educational program offered at the College of Central Florida.
